Does a Healthy LifeStyle Feel Elusive

Beginning the year with good intentions is admirable, and most of us do.

Given that 85% of us have ditched them by midway through the first month of the year, it’s logical that there’s more to long-term results than simply wanting them.

Yes – this is old news.

Reality

And the reality for many of us running our own businesses, is that the proverbial ‘to do list’ keeps on growing, the perceived need to multi-task just gets ever-more alluring and the *deadlines seem to develop a life of their own.

If you’re like many of us who’re truly ready to ditch the excuses, and talking about getting health simply no longer cuts-it, then it’s good timing to get clear on if it’s really worth the time and effort to change your current reality.

Imagine what your life will be like with endless energy, without needing to rely on coffees to pump you up, and a drink or two to help you relax. Simply feeling truly, deliciously well from the inside out…

…And with the energy AND the resources to explore and suck the marrow out of life.

Worth the trade off?

After all – this is the reason many of us follow our entrepreneurial instincts; so we can live the life we’ve imagined. Time off when we choose for holidays and kids’ stuff, living with a sense of ease, putting ourselves first on the list, following our passions and ticking off the items from the wish list.

This is the reason I decided to follow my own dreams, rather than my boss’.

Although after establishing and running the health centres and the corporate wellness business, instead of feeling energised and bullet proof, I felt exhausted, burnt out and ‘over it’.

It doesn’t have to be this way

We all know it, or have seen it in action. That well-trodden path of working ourselves ragged for the first half of our lives to make money whilst ignoring our wellbeing, and then attempting to use what we’ve made to buy back our health in the second half of our lives.

Are you like many of us, and curious to experience going beyond just ‘treading water’ with your health?

One of my clients recently said that she simply feels she’s now ‘more able to live an energetic life.’

Another, that she’s ‘now able to battle the bugs way more efficiently’.

So what did these clients do to create these results? Of course it’s never one thing, however there are some basics they’ve built into their lives, that are both practical and realistic. They’re also so simple for each of us to do that they mostly go overlooked.

3 tips to a Healthy LifeStyle –

  1. Drink around 8 glasses of filtered water each day (with nothing added, except fresh lemon juice if we need a change sometimes)– and more if we’re in a hot or aircon environment, we’ve been exercising or have had especially salty or sweet food or drink.
  2. Indulge in some kind of exercise we enjoy. It doesn’t need to be a gym membership – simply brisk walking 4-5 times a week can do wonders for our energy levels.
  3. Deep breathe each day for around 10 deep breaths – ideally at the start and end of our day (Yes, it really can make a difference!)

If you’re feeling frustrated with your energy levels, ability to fight off the flu that’s going around, or you’re simply keen to beat the statistics, then take heart. It really is worth taking the steps.

As one who’s now feeling healthier and happier than I did when I was 21 – I know for a fact that it is.

*actually, I love the word ‘lifelines’ a friend recently used as an alternative for deadlines. It can be a game-changer forgetting things done!
